AS nominations start to arrive for this year's Hereford Times Health and Social Care Awards, a previous finalist has been nominated for a third time.

Cantilupe Surgery in St Owen's Street, Hereford, is praised for "the amazing level of care" it provides.

This award recognises the contribution of everyone in the GP practice, something highlighted in one nomination: "The wait on the phone is generally quite acceptable and on occasions when I have needed to speak to a receptionist they have always been so helpful and supportive.

"But most especially they appear to understand how to be a staff group who are approachable and efficient.

"Cantilupe surgery should win this award because all the staff treat patients as human being with feelings and concerns which are often especially prominent when health is concerned."

In addition to the GP Practice of the Year award for which Cantilupe Surgery has been nominated, there are 11 other awards up for grabs, all looking to pay tribute to those whose efforts in the health and care industry over the past 12 months deserve recognition.
