ENTREPRENEUR Alfie Best had his haircut in Bromyard during filming in the town.

The millionaire is in the process of revamping the dilapidated Hop Pole into a five-star venue.

The hotel has been a long-decaying sight in the town's Market Square, with planning permission for an extensive internal refurbishment applied for.

Mr Best, founder and chair of Wyldecrest Parks, which own Sapey Golf and Country Club and Saltmarshe Castle Residential Park nearby, bought the hotel in 2019 and said the refurb would save the "dying town".

And earlier this month, Channel 4 were in Bromyard filming Mr Best on the start of the development.

Emma Simcock, of Emma's Farmhouse Cafe, said the entrepreneur chatted to many local business owners, and popped into Caughtshort barbers, which he described as 'the best barber in town'.

"He popped into the cafe and enjoyed a bacon sarnie and photo opportunity," added Ms Simcock.

"He also spoke to Karen Jeynes from Nurture."
