A HEREFORDSHIRE van driver has been banned from the roads after he was caught while over the drug and drink-driving limits.

Christopher Moseley entered a guilty plea to one count of driving while over the drug limit and one count of driving while over the alcohol limit when he appeared before magistrates in Hereford in May.

The court heard from prosecutor Mark Hambling that the 38-year-old had been caught out on the A480 at Moorhampton in Herefordshire after getting behind the wheel of a Renault Trafic while over the drug-driving and drink-driving limit on October 29.

An evidential blood test revealed that he had more than 800 microgrammes of class A controlled drug cocaine metabolite benzoylecgonine in a litre of blood and 101 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

The respective legal limits are 50 microgrammes and 80 milligrammes.

Moseley, of Nursery Walk, Credenhill, was disqualified from driving for 16 months and fined £120 for the offences.

He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £135 and a £48 victim surcharge.
