A WOMAN has been banned from the roads after failing to tell police who was driving her car after it was clocked breaking the speed limit in Herefordshire.

Ruwaydda Bibi Riaz was proven guilty in her absence of one count of speeding and one count of failing to give information relating to the identification of a driver by magistrates in Cardiff.

OTHER NEWS:

The court heard that the 34-year-old had been clocked breaking the limit while behind the wheel of a Nissan in a 50 miles per hour zone on the A40 at Pencraig in Herefordshire on May 29 last year.

She had also failed to identify the driver of that Nissan, who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence, to police in Droitwich when required to do so on August 8, the court heard.

Riaz, of Wyndham Road, Cardiff, was fined a total of £1,100, disqualified from driving for six months, with magistrates saying a ban was obligatory due to repeat offending, and received six penalty points. She was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £600 and a £110 victim surcharge.
