FOLLOWING the coronation of King Charles III, Goodrich Castle will be putting on a week of royally good activities during half term.

Taking place from today (May 27) until June 4, the kids are in charge at the special 'Kids Rule!' event.

Celebration crowns will also be handed out on arrival so children can feel like a King or Queen for the day. The crown features an illustrated timeline of famous rulers, stretching from Emperor Hadrian all the way to Charles III.

Matt Bulford, English Heritage’s Head of Historic Properties for the West Midlands, said: “We’re delighted to welcome members and visitors to our sites for the half-term holidays for what is shaping up to be a fantastic week, made extra-special by our coronation inspired activities.

"There will be plenty to see and do for all ages. You’ll be spoilt for choice for excellent days out in the West Midlands."

The castle near Ross-on-Wye was recently named as one of the country's top hiden gems to visit.

Marketing agency Tank analysed 155 castles, ranking them according to visitor reviews and how often they appeared in social media posts, prioritising the less well-known. Goodrich came sixth in the list.
