A MERCEDES driver caught breaking the limit in Herefordshire has escaped a roads ban for reasons including the mental health of a family member.
Karen Elizabeth Hone entered a guilty plea to one count of exceeding a 50 miles per hour speed limit when she appeared before magistrates in Worcester in April.

The court heard from the prosecutor that the 56-year-old, who was represented at the hearing by barrister Mr Findon, had been caught breaking the limit while behind the wheel of a Mercedes in a 50 miles per hour zone on the A40 at Pencraig in Herefordshire on July 27.
Hone, of West Drive, Porthcawl, was fined £215 and received three penalty points. She was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £110 and an £86 victim surcharge.
No totting disqualification was imposed as, magistrates said, a roads ban would affect the care she provides for family members, the mental health of a family member, and the effect the loss of her salary would have on her family.
