THE enthusiasm and commitment of long-serving team members at a Herefordshire hotel and restaurant has been recognised at a national awards event.

Suzie Isaacs and Phil Mcnally are long-serving colleagues and familiar faces at the popular Feathers Hotel in Ledbury.

And now Suzie has been named Head Chef of the Year while Phil has been named Deputy Manager of the Year at The Coaching Inn Group’s annual awards, attended by over three hundred team members gathering in Lincoln.

Ledbury-born Suzie, who first joined The Feathers as a commis chef over twenty years ago and has been head chef for more than a decade, said she absolutely loved her job working with her close-knit catering team and winning the award was now the icing on the cake.

“We have a great camaraderie here and work wonderfully well together as a team so I can honestly say that even after 22 years I still enjoy every minute of it,” she said.

Phil, who grew up in nearby Malvern, joined The Feathers front of house team in 2016 and was made deputy manager some eighteen months ago.

“I simply love the variety of my overall role assisting in most all departments from front of house to restaurant and bars at busy times and meeting our visitors and many regular customers,” he said.

Kevin Charity, chief executive officer of The Coaching Inn Group, which now owns and operates over thirty hotels and inns in market towns across the country, said both Suzie and Phil were most worthy winners of the coveted awards.
