THE main road between Hereford and Worcester will close for four nights for roadworks to improve safety.

Councillor Ellie Chowns, who represents the Bishop's Frome and Cradley ward, said the overnight roadworks from May 1 were good news for the local area.

The road will be closed at Ridgeway Cross, near Cradley, where the B4220 from Bromyard meets the A4103 Hereford to Worcester road.

OTHER NEWS:

Herefordshire Council contractor Balfour Beatty Living Places will be carrying out resurfacing, lining, and anti-skid works to improve road safety at this junction, Green Party councillor Ellie Chowns said.

"As residents know, [this] is something I have been campaigning hard for," she added.

OTHER NEWS:

"I'm very pleased that this work is being done and I hope it doesn't cause too much disruption."

A letter from Balfour Beatty Living Places said the road would be clsoed from 8pm until 6pm each night.

It said the diversion will be via the B4220 to Bromyard, B4214 towards Ledbury and the B4220 back to Cradley.
