FIREFIGHTERS have checked a hedgerow for casualties after a car veered off the road in Herefordshire.

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to the A417 at Burley Gate, between Ledbury and Leominster.

But after checking the hedge for potential casualties, firefighters didn't find anyone, a spokesperson for Hereford Fire Station said.

The one-car crash saw a grey Vauxhall Astra veer off the road and land on top of the hedge, a picture from the fire station showed.

The crews made the car safe after being called at 9.41am on Monday (March 6).

Firefighters left the crash with West Mercia Police, the crew said.
