A HEREFORD man has been sent for trial accused of drink-driving and possessing an offensive weapon.

Jamie Brooke entered not guilty pleas when he appeared before magistrates in Hereford in February accused of one count of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and one count of driving while over the alcohol limit.

The court heard from prosecutor Mark Hambling that the 32-year-old is accused of possessing an offensive weapon, namely a lock knife, without lawful authority or reasonable excuse in Church Road, Clehonger, on December 15.

Hereford Times:

He is also accused of driving a white Vauxhall Vivaro van in Church Road, Clehonger, while over the drink-drive limit, with 64 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, on the same date. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

The case was sent for trial and Brooke, of Hinton Road, Hereford, was released on unconditional bail.

He will appear before magistrates in Hereford next for trial on April 3.
