A THIEF has been handed a conditional discharge after stealing a television from a Hereford Tesco supermarket.
Ross Richards entered a guilty plea to one count of theft from a shop when he appeared before magistrates in Hereford in February.

The court heard from Crown Prosecution Service prosecutor Paul John that the 42-year-old, who was represented at the hearing by defence solicitor Marilena Di Vitantonio, had stolen a Sharp television worth £184 from Hereford's Belmont Road Tesco supermarket on July 6.
Richards, of Belmont Road, Hereford, was handed a 12-month conditional discharge for the offence, with magistrates saying they had taken his guilty plea into account when coming to their decision.
Magistrates said that, due to Richards' lack of means, they were not making an order for prosecution costs or a victim surcharge, which is used to help fund services supporting victims of crime.
