A HEREFORD man has been banned from the roads for three years after he was caught out while over the limit.
Bartolomiej Szmanda entered a guilty plea to one count of driving while over the alcohol limit when he appeared before magistrates in Hereford in January.
The court heard from prosecutor Eleanor Peart that the 43-year-old had been caught out in Hereford's Waterfield Road after getting behind the wheel of a silver Citroen C4 while over the drink-drive limit on January 2.

An evidential breath test carried out by police revealed that he had 59 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal driving limit is 35 microgrammes.

Szmanda, of Shellard Walk in Hereford, was fined £120 and disqualified from driving for 36 months, with magistrates saying they had taken his guilty plea into account when deciding upon the sentence.
He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £135 and a £48 victim surcharge.
Szmanda was offered the opportunity to complete the drink-driving rehabilitation course, which will reduce his ban by 36 weeks if successfully completed.
