MORE Herefordshire speeders have been fined by magistrates after they were caught breaking the limit.

Phillip David Jones, 74, was proven guilty of one count of speeding by magistrates in Worcester.

The court heard Jones had been caught breaking the limit behind the wheel of an Iveco in a 30 miles per hour zone on the A465 Belmont Road in Hereford on June 13.

Jones, who is of Clifford Chambers, Stratford-upon-Avon, was fined £220 and received three penalty points. He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £90 and a £34 victim surcharge.

Lewis William Lambert, 28, admitted one count of speeding to magistrates in Worcester.

The court heard BMW driver Lambert had been caught speeding in a 50 miles per hour zone on the A40 at Pencraig on June 14.

Lambert, of Lon Fawr, Caerphilly, was fined £530 and received six penalty points. He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £90 and a £53 victim surcharge.

Philip John McDonnell, 53, was proven guilty of one count of speeding by magistrates in Worcester.

The court heard McDonnell had been caught breaking the limit behind the wheel of a Toyota in a 50 miles per hour zone on the A40 at Pencraig on June 14.

McDonnell, who is of Prescot Road in Liverpool, was fined £220 and received three penalty points. He must also pay prosecution costs of £90 and a £34 victim surcharge.
