A NEW business has launched at a pub near Ross-on-Wye and it offers customers a chance a taste of the great outdoors.

As boys, Robin Fletcher and Leon Meek grew up with the Wye Valley as their playground, and have now set up the new firm so others can share the beauty of the river and their love of fun outdoor activities.

YOFI PaddleSports, based at Ye Old Ferrie Inn in Symonds Yat, is the place to go if you want to explore the waters of the Wye.

Mr Meek added: “I have lived in the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley for all of my life and despite the time spent travelling other countries, it never ceases to amaze me the beauty we have on our doorstep.

Most people's experience of paddleboarding has been in the sea on holiday, we are encouraging people to give it a go on the calmer, gentler waters of the Wye.

"Without the challenge of the tide or waves, you will quickly find your feet, be standing up and exploring the area in no time.”

Paddleboard and canoe hire is available by the hour, with more information at yofipaddlsports.com.
