A HEREFORDSHIRE man has been banned from the roads after failing to give a sample to police.
Ben Saunders appeared before magistrates in Hereford for trial in December after entering a guilty plea to one count of obstructing or resisting a police constable in the execution of their duty and denying failing to provide a specimen as a person in charge of a vehicle at an earlier hearing.
The court heard from prosecutor Paul John that the 23-year-old had resisted a police officer who was acting in the course of his duties in an incident in Ross-on-Wye on July 23.

He was accused of failing without reasonable excuse to provide a sample of breath for analysis to police when suspected of having been in charge of a vehicle and when required to do so during the course of an investigation into whether he had committed an offence on July 23.
Magistrates found him guilty of the second offence at his trial.
Saunders, who is of The Close, Hildersley, was fined a total of £350 and disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for six months.
He must also pay prosecution costs of £550 and a £140 victim surcharge.
