A THIEF has been ordered to pay back the value of the goods he stole by a court.
David Moore appeared before magistrates in Hereford for sentencing after admitting two counts of theft from a shop and being found guilty of a third count of theft from a shop at an earlier hearing.
The court heard from prosecutor Mark Hambling that the 46-year-old had stolen alcohol worth £64.50 from Ross-on-Wye's Sainsbury's supermarket on May 4.

He had also stolen food items worth £33 from Ross-on-Wye's Co-op shop on April 20 and had stolen food items worth £8 from the same shop on December 23 last year.
Moore, who is of Morley Square, Ross-on-Wye, was handed a 12-month conditional discharge by magistrates and ordered to pay compensation of £64.50 to Sainsbury's Supermarkets Ltd and compensation of £41 to Co-operative Retail Services Ltd.
He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £185 and a £34 victim surcharge, which is used to help fund services to support victims of crime.
