A FRAUD-ACCUSED Herefordshire builder has been sent to the crown court.

Naheed Plumridge appeared before magistrates in Hereford accused of 14 charges of fraud by false representation and one of participating in fraudulent business carried on by a sole trader in November.

The court heard Plumridge, also known as Deehan Williams, is accused of knowingly being a party to the carrying on of a business with the intention to defraud, obtaining monies totalling £17,352 from prospective customers purporting that the monies obtained were part-payments for garden or building works which he later failed to perform in Herefordshire, Worcestershire, and Powys, between June 30, 2015, and October 31, 2021.

He is accused of making untrue or misleading claims that he would carry out repairs to a fireplace and bathroom in Stanford Bishop for £625, intending to make a £300 gain between June 30 and November 30, 2015, that he would carry out fencing work at a property in Sutton, Tenbury Wells for £1,450, intending to make an £800 gain between February 10 and June 5, 2017, and that he would carry out repairs to a conservatory in Hereford for £1,000, intending to make a £1,000 gain, between February 10 and June 5, 2017.

He is also accused of making untrue or misleading claims that he would make and fit a TV unit at a home in Bromyard, for £760, intending to make a gain of £380 between April 30 and May 30, 2017, that he would build an aviary at a home in Canon Pyon for £1,200, intending to make a gain of £600 between June 15 and July 31, 2019, and that he would complete fencing works in Leominster for £650, intending to make a £650 gain between July 10 and August 13, 2019.

The 48-year-old is alleged to have made untrue or misleading claims that he would complete roof works in Llandrindod Wells for £2,000, intending to make a £1,245 gain between March 2 and April 30, 2020, that he would repair a path and build a scooter hut in Bromyard for £1,800, intending to make a gain of £1,000, between October 4 and November 14, 2020, and that he would build shelves and install electrical sockets in Rhayadar for £795, intending to make a £375 gain between January 16 and 31, 2021.

He is further accused of making untrue or misleading claims that he would carry out garden and fencing work in Leominster for £3,900, intending to make a £2,200 gain between April 12 and May 14, 2021, that he would repair a ballcock and paint a wall in Kinnersley for £185, intending to make a £125 gain between July 14 and 31, 2021, that he would repair a garage door in Clifton-upon-Teme for £210, intending to make a £150 gain between July 25 and August 6, 2021, that he would carry out roofing, damp proofing, rendering, replastering and guttering work in Leominster for £6,000, intending to make a £4,000 gain between September 6 and October 1, 2021, and that he would carry out gardening works and hire a skip for £6,000 in Leominster, intending to make a gain of £4,527 between September 11 and October 21, 2021.

The case was sent to the crown court for trial and Plumridge, of Churchill Avenue, Leominster, will appear before Worcester Crown Court on December 13.
