A BUSY road in Hereford will be closed for a week as roadworks take place.

Herefordshire Council said that Mortimer Road, off Newtown Road past Screwfix and IMO carwash, would be closed from Thursday, November 24.

OTHER NEWS:

In a public notice, the council said the road would be shut for one week for resurfacing work.

It said that the closure will be between Newtown Road and Perseverance Road, near Hereford Kidney Treatment Centre.

OTHER NEWS:

The closure is needed due to the resurfacing work and the likelihood of danger to the public while the works are taking place.

The diversion for those affected by the closure will be via Perseverance Road and onto the A49 and vice versa.
