Depp has been a controversial figure in recent years, hitting the headlines as he and ex-wife Amber Heard battled in the courts over defamation claims.
The actor sued his former partner over a 2018 article she wrote for the Washington Post about her experiences as a survivor of domestic abuse, which his lawyers said falsely accused him of being an abuser.

In June this year a jury at Fairfax County Court returned a verdict in his favour and he was awarded 10.3 million dollars (£8.43 million) for damage to his reputation.
It has been reported that a number of Rihanna's fans have expressed concerns over his casting in her show.
Former Hereford Sixth Form College and Hereford College of Arts student Alexander played a leading role in the series It's a Sin, which told the story of a group of young friend living in London through the HIV/Aids crisis in the 1980s.
He is also known as a chart-topping singer, performing under the name Years & Years.
