A MOTORIST caused a head-on collision while trying to overtake on a county road.
At Hereford Magistrates Court, Lloyd Gardener-Jones, aged 23, of Hampton Gardens, Leominster, admitted driving without due care and attention.
Kris Ewing, prosecuting, said Gardener-Jones had been driving along the A44 near Monkland when he tried to overtake another vehicle.
He had not been able to see a car coming the other way because of a dip in the road and collided with the car head on, said Ms Ewing.
He suffered a bruised chest and the other driver suffered injuries to his chest and arm, she added.
Representing himself, Gardener- Jones said it had seemed a good place to overtake and he had not realised there was a dip in the road.
"I'm sorry it happened, sorry to both people in the other car," he said.
He was fined £200, ordered to pay a £15 surcharge and £60 costs, and had his driving licence endorsed with six penalty points.
