A CLASSIC vehicle seven-day road run from Ross-on-Wye to John O'Groats will raise funds for two county causes.
Four 1950s lorries and two 1940s motorbikes, which have been restored by their owners, will be setting off on the 1,400 mile trip from the Yew Tree Inn in Peterstow.
Due to their slow speed - and for a more scenic journey - they will travel along A and B roads rather than motorways.
The trip, which starts on Friday, April 18 at 9am, is in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and the Ross Community Hospital League of Friends.
Nick Penfold, who is taking part, said that sponsorship money had already reached four figures and added: "A lot of the people involved have relatives or friends who have had massive support from Macmillan, and the Association of League of Friends of Ross does a brilliant job."
They are raising money individually and are appealing to businesses for donations.
Cheques, payable to CVRR, can be sent to CVRR, c/o Blenheim Cottage, Peterstow, Ross-on- Wye, Herefordshire, HR9 6LE.
