A HEREFORDSHIRE sports club has scored a success after receiving funding to provide temporary shelter at tournaments.
Young rugby players at Luctonians Sports Club will benefit from receiving £1,600 from the Kingspan Insulation Community Trust to buy three heavy duty gazebos to keep warm and dry during tournaments.
It's the second time the club has benefitted from the trust, which helps the parishes of Shobdon, Pembridge and Kingsland.
Mike Powell, of Luctonians, said: "We hope that having the gazebos to provide relief from the inclement weather will stop the children being put off by bad experiences in muddy exposed fields in freezing or wet conditions."
A fund of £25,000 is made available twice a year through the trust for projects that meet one of four objectives which cover conservation, biodiversity, young people's health and fitness and road safety.
John Garbutt, chairman of the trust said: "The fact that this is the second time the club has benefitted from the trust's funding just goes to show that there are numerous ways the four objectives set out by the trust can be met."
