A HEREFORDSHIRE woodland charity has received the royal seal of approval with a special visit.
The Cart Shed, based in Norton Canon, near Hereford, was visited by The Duke of Kent on Thursday May 19.
On his visit the Duke was served an authentic Cart Shed lunch under one of its woodland canopies.
The lunch of soup, sausages and roast potatoes was prepared by its volunteer cooks over an open fire in a woodland kitchen using ingredients grown on the horticultural site.

After lunch the Duke was taken to meet with young Cart Shed participants who demonstrated some of the skills they have learned with the charity.
He then went on to meet staff, volunteers and participants on our other woodland site where he learned about the challenges people are facing and to see more of our enriching woodland activities.
The Cart Shed uses enriching and engaging woodland activities such as woodcraft and coppice craft as well as horticulture to empower us to self-manage our mental and physical health in a sustainable way.
It was awarded the Queen's Award for volutary service in 2017.
Katie Eastaugh, chief executive of the Cart Shed said: "It was a fabulous day all round. The weather was beautiful and with the rain of the previous day the woodland was looking at its absolute best.
"It is such a huge accolade to be recognised with a royal visit and it was hugely exciting for everyone involved."
