A NEW Turkish restaurant is set to open where Pizza Express once stood in Hereford.

La’De Kitchen will be taking over the building formerly home to the chain pizza restaurant.

The Broad Street restaurant, which used the be Hereford's post office, was left empty in 2020 after the coronavirus pandemic hit.

Restaurants shut their doors in March as lockdown started, and Pizza Express never reopened its Hereford site.

But estate agents Sunderlands revealed in February the new restaurant would be taking over the empty unit.

La’De Kitchen is a family owned, innovative and contemporary Mediterranean restaurant with dishes served in an authentic set-up.

It currently has several restaurants in the south and has now added Hereford to that list.

The restaurant uses fresh, local, seasonal ingredients, and take pride and inspiration from the family’s Anatolian roots and ancient cooking techniques.

Its aim is the cherish Mediterranean flavours and provide a true taste of its food.

A wide range of dishes will be on its menu, all representing the nutritional balance of Mediterranean cuisine, including a selection of well-known Turkish delicacies such as kebabs and lahmacun.

It will also offer oven-baked Italian pizzas.

A spokesperson from La'De Kitchen said: "The warm welcome of La'De awaits our customers in Hereford with complimentary dishes and soon with our delivery service as well."

It will open on Monday, May 16, seven days a week from 11am to 11pm.
