A TEENAGE learner driver was caught drug-driving on a busy Herefordshire main road.
Percy Smith entered guilty pleas when he appeared before magistrates in Merthyr Tydfil.
The court heard the 18-year-old had been caught driving a Ford on the A40 at Ross-on-Wye while over the drug-drive limit on August 1.
An evidential blood test revealed he had three microgrammes of cannabis metabolite delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol per litre of blood. The legal limit is two.
He was also found to be driving without a licence or insurance on the same date.
Smith, of District Street, Merthyr Tydfil, was fined a total of £240 and disqualified from driving for 12 months. He must also pay costs of £85 and a £34 victim surcharge.
