A ROAD near Hereford which was closed for more than a year is set to close again, Herefordshire Council has announced.

The B4224 between Mordiford and Fownhope will be close for three days in March for pothole patching work, the council said.

The road between Holme Lacy Bridge and Fownhope was shut for 13 months after a landslip caused by Storm Dennis in February 2020.

It then closed for a week in February for resurfacing.

Now the road will be closed again between Mordiford Bridge and Fiddler's Green from Monday, March 28 to Wednesday, March 30.

"We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you," Herefordshire Council contractor Balfour Beatty Living Places said.

"At Balfour Beatty, we work in partnership with Herefordshire Council to minimise the impact of our work and try to keep all disruption to a minimum – we appreciate your patience."

The B4224 from Hampton Park Road to Mordiford Bridge will also be closed from March 28 to 30 for patching work.

On Thursday, March 24 and Friday, March 25, the B4399 between Dinedor Mill Bridge and the Fownhope road will also be closed.

All closures will be from 9.30am until 3.30pm.
