A WEATHER warning has been issued for Herefordshire as potentially heavy fog threatens to cause travel disruptions.

The yellow warning for fog is due to come into force at 10pm tonight (January 11), remaining in force until 12pm tomorrow.

The Met Office warned that fog patches are expected to form during Tuesday night, becoming dense and freezing in places by dawn on Wednesday, particularly in river valleys with visibility less than 100 metres at times.

Herefordshire will see a minimum overnight temperature of -3 °C.

Fog will thin slowly later Wednesday morning, although a few patches may persist into the afternoon over the south-west Midlands, with a maximum temperature of 7 °C.
