FRIENDS and family of missing woman Janet Edwards held a search one month on from her disappearance.

Wye Valley Runners club met in Churchill Gardens, at the top of Aylestone Hill, Hereford, on January 7 to continue the search for much-loved fellow member Ms Edwards.

The search was held after police released a new appeal and told friends and family to spread awareness, as well as prioritising certain areas in Hereford after a suggested sighting in Penn Grove Road.

Ms Edwards, 67, was last seen at Beechwood Court, Hereford, at 2.30pm on December 10.

Friends spoke out about their concern.

Wye Valley Runners member Paddy Nugent, who has been a friend of Ms Edwards for 15 years, said she is the centre of the club.

"She is friendly, full of life, bubbly. If anyone has a problem we go and talk to Jan," he said.

"She has no ego. She just wants to do the right thing.

"She is kind, loving, generous, and one of the key people of the club, and the sooner we get her back the better."

Friend, club member, and BBC journalist Nicola Goodwin said Ms Edwards was the organiser and would be the person everyone went to if they had concerns.

This is completely out of character for her, she said.

"I know that is something that is said time and time again, but it is a complete mystery, and everyone is really concerned about Jan."

"It is inspiring to us to see that people care so much.

"We're just trying to keep the awareness there.

"We think that someone must know something, but they are just unaware that they do yet."

Bin day is on Friday in Penn Grove Road, which may help to spark people's memory, she said.

Martin Flowers, chairman of Wye Valley Runners club, said the group concentrated on refreshing posters in the surrounding areas.

"We are still hopeful," he said.

People who did not know Ms Edwards also came to help.

"The support has been fantastic," said Mr Flowers.

One man on the search said people in the area are aware Ms Edwards is missing and want to help.

Superintendent Edd Williams said: "We're appealing for information, no matter how small, from members of the public that might help us find Janet."

He asked anyone who lives near Beechwood Court, Penn Grove Road, Venns Lane, College Road, Aylestone Hill, Folly Lane, or Bodenham Road, or who may have been driving in the area between 3pm and 7pm on December 10, to review CCTV or dash-cam footage to see if they can see Ms Edwards.

CCTV pictures of her on the day show her wearing a green Raab jacket, blue jeans, and casual brown boots with a white trim and sole.
