IT WAS with mixed feelings that I read of the construction of Leominster's new south/west link road connecting the A49 to the A44 (Hereford Times, November 25).
So, Leominster will now effectively have two bypasses: eastern (A49) and western.
This, quietly achieved while Hereford has procrastinated for over 40 years between eastern and western routes and, predictably, has ended up with neither.
The county's capital is its only town without a (much-needed) bypass!
Leominster has also recently secured significant prestigious heritage grant funding to develop its town centre.
Where would you invest?
