A WARD at Hereford County Hospital has been shut after a number of patients tested positive for coronavirus.

The Wye Valley NHS Trust, which runs the hospital off Commercial Road, said the "small number" of patients with Covid on the ward were put into isolation.

A spokesperson said Arrow Ward, a respiratory and cardiac medicine ward, was temporarily closed to visitors, with close contacts of confirmed cases traced.

"These patients are being cared for in isolation and Covid-19 testing for all inpatients on this ward has been carried out," they said.
