SUPERMARKET chain Lidl GB has confirmed when its Hereford shop will reopen after major refurbishment works.

The chain said its new-look and newly expanded supermarket in Brook Retail Park, at the bottom of Aylestone Hill, will reopen its doors on October 14 after closing in May for an extensive refurbishment.

The store opening times will be between 8am - 10pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am – 4pm on Sunday, delivering Lidl’s offering of fresh, quality and great value produce.

As part of the company’s £1.3bn investment in its expansion across Great Britain in 2020 and 2021, the store in Hereford now has a larger sales area of 1,104m2.

The supermarket also has new facilities, such as a customer toilet, an improved fresh offering and a larger bakery section. The extension will enable the local community access to even more of Lidl’s high quality and affordable products, while the refurbishment will help to provide a refreshed, modern experience.

Lidl GB’s regional head of property Paul Hebblethwaite said: “We would like to thank the local community for their patience and understanding whilst we have carried out these improvement works at our store in Hereford. We are delighted to be able to open the store once again to residents and deliver an even greater range of our fresh, high quality and affordable produce as well as an enhanced shopping experience.”

As per the latest government guidance, while no longer legally required, it is recommended that those who can, continue to wear face coverings in crowded or indoor spaces, including when visiting our stores in England. Dedicated cleaning stations at entrances, hand sanitiser, and protective screens at checkouts will also remain in place.
