A HEREFORD man has been banned from the roads after he was caught drink driving.
Vlad Petrescu of Kernal Road, Hereford pleaded guilty to one charge of drink driving when he appeared at Hereford Magistrates Court.
Prosecutor, Melanie Winterflood, told the court that at 12.30am on August 30 police officers pulled over a Mazda 6 estate being driven by Petrescu on Ross Road in Hereford.
The officers conducted a roadside breath test, which the 36 year old failed. He was taken by officers to a police station, where he provided another specimen of breath.
He gave a positive reading of 69 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, which exceeded the drink drive limit of 35.
The prosecutor said that prior to his guilty plea Petrescu was a man of good character.
George Cousins, defence solicitor, said that Petrescu had been to a party and had only driven a short distance when he was pulled over by police.
Petrescu was given a 19 month driving ban and fined £300. He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and court costs of £135.
