SCHOOLS across Herefordshire returned this week, and this secondary school was excited to have its pupils return.

The Bishop of Hereford's Bluecoat School welcomed pupils back on Monday after the summer break.

A school spokesperson said: "Bishops' students and teachers are delighted to be back at school following the summer break. The school has undergone a lot of refurbishments and continues its journey of rapid improvement.

"A very extensive range of extra-curricular activities are up and running again including a school musical, the wedding Singer, planned for Christmas.

"We are very much looking forward to sharing the Ofsted report with you which is due to be released in the next two weeks following the inspection in July."

Year 7 students started the year off with a full week of team building activities as a summer school before term started.

It was an opportunity for them to get to know each other before the school term began this week.

They were involved in activities such as art, languages, sports, cookery, escape rooms, giant inflatables, team building, Lego, paintballing, archery tag and science experiments.

This gave them a great chance to meet each other, build relationships, meet the staff including form tutors, and find their way around the site as well as having fun together.
