FIREFIGHTERS have been called out to battle a blaze in a Herefordshire GP surgery.

A spokesperson for Ledbury Fire Station said a crew was called to Ledbury's Market Surgery (now Ledbury Health Partnership) at around 7.45am on September 7.

"We arrived to find a smoke logged building and committed two breathing apparatus wearers to find and extinguish the fire," the spokesperson said.

"The cause of the fire was located and removed from the property. Fire damage was cut away and the building checked with a thermal image camera. Thankfully nobody was injured.

"Huge thanks to the amazingly kind lady from the Shaw Healthcare kitchen who was kind enough to supply us with a much appreciated cup of tea.

"Thank you to Malvern Fire Station and Fownhope Fire Station who also attended to support us!"
