Chris Blake, group manager of community safety for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service, said: "The chances of being involved in a serious road traffic collision are highlighted by data showing that the fire and rescue service now attend around twice as many road incidents as domestic house fires.
"Firefighters know from first hand experience the trauma involved in such incidents and support this campaign."
Ch Supt Mark Turner, Hereford shire division commander, said: "Reducing the numbers of deaths and serious injuries on the county's roads is a priority for West Mercia Constabulary so I'm delighted to support this campaign.
"I hope the articles in the coming weeks will educate and encourage everyone to make road safety their personal responsibility, whether they are behind a steering wheel, on two wheels, or simply walking."
