UNIQUE war medals have been stolen in a burglary at a rural Herefordshire house.

Police said the theft of the seven unique medals was reported to officers on August 19, but said the house, near Leominster, could have been burgled anytime in the two weeks prior.

Officers said the medals were unique as they had the surname Holder engraved on them, which also made them "easily identifiable".

"We would really like to reunite the medals with their rightful owner, so if you can help us spread the details far and wide in the hope the more people that know, the more chances we have of recovering them," PCSO Harper from Leominster's safer neighbourhood team said.

Anyone with information should contact police via email: leominster.snt@westmercia.pnn.police.uk.

Crime reference 22/73646/21 should be given at the same time.

"Please keep all windows and doors locked, when you are away from the property and ensure that if you are out in the back garden, you lock the front door," PCSO Harper added.
