  • KEY UPDATES
  • 11': Almost a goal for Farsley after Hereford concede a free kick just outside the 18-yard box. Will Hayhurst's low, curling effort towards the bottom corner of the net was parried by Brandon Hall, before a defender scrambled clear.
  • 21': Tom Owen-Evans cuts in from the right, set up by Joey Butlin, but the keeper is well-positioned to make the save from his rasping shot.
  • 42': Farsley almost draw first blood as Hanson wins the flick on for Spencer, but his shot on the turn is deflected behind for a corner. Nothing comes of the flag kick, thankfully.
  • 62': Farsley take the lead as Luke Parkin, from a free kick, curls the ball into the far corner of the net from the left flank.
  • 76': Penalty to Hereford as Ryan McLean bursts into the box but is brought down as Adam Barton tries to prevent the shot. Joey Butlin takes the spot kick, but keeper Donaghy saves down low to his left.
  • 85': RED CARD! A really horrific challenge on Kouhyar by Farsley captain Dave Syers sees him given his marching orders.

  • ROLLING MATCH REPORT
  • The Bulls go into the game after a mixed pre-season, winning only two of their eight matches, Josh Gowling revealed two new signings on Friday and international clearance has been received for James Vincent and Miles Storey.
  • Attacking the Blackfriars End in the first half, Hereford weren't able to start strongly and Farsley held strong. Mitch Hancox was booked within the opening five minutes for a bad challenge as he tried to win back possession.
  • Tom Owen-Evans' free kick with just seven minutes on the clock, owing to a Tyler Walton foul, failed to create many problems as it was headed out for a corner by a towering defender. Luke Haines delivered the thrown into the box, but no one was able to scramble the ball across the line as it rolled behind for a goal kick.
  • It was Farsley who then threatened after the Bulls conceded a free kick in a dangerous area on the edge of the 18-yard box. Hereford keeper Brandon Hall managed to parry Will Hayhurst's low, curling effort, before a defender scrambled away.
  • Hereford should have done better with three chances around the 20 minute mark, but Tom Owen-Evans's cross from the right was snubbed out ahead of the onrushing Ryan McLean, Joey Butlin saw an effort from close-range deflected wide, before Owen-Evans's rasping shot was saved by the well-positioned Tom Donaghy.
  • A quieter period, possibly some might may scrappy, ensued with no clear-cut chances for either side. Before the break, Farsely could have broken the deadlock but Spencer's dangerous shot on the turn was deflected behind for a fruitless corner.
  • After the break, Joey Butlin created a perfect chance to put Hereford ahead, but his powerful shot from outside the box was inches over the bar with the keeper well-beaten.
  • But Butlin's chance came moments after Brandon Hall was called into action to save a tame headed effort by Farsley forward James Hanson from Adam Barton.
  • It was just after the half hour mark when Farsley took the lead. A late challenge from Miles Storey on the wing gifted Farsley a free-kick, with Luke Parkin's ball curling its way into the far top corner of the net, out of reach of Brandon Hall.
  • Despite a little more pressure from Hereford, it wasn't until a penalty in the 76th minute when they came close to equalising. Ryan McLean was found in space and a spirited run into the box was brought to an abrupt end in the box by Adam Barton, with the referee instantly pointing the spot. Up stepped Joey Butlin, but his spot kick was saved by Donaghy low down to his left.
  • Down at the other end of the pitch, Brandon Hall rose high above the Blue shirts of Farsley to claim a free kick from the left three minutes later.
  • Farsley were reduced to 10 men for the last five minutes of the game after captain Dave Syers scythed substitute Maziar Kouhyar down on the right wing. Hereford couldn't immediately capitalise on the one man advantage and free kick, with Ben Pollock's header from the free kick easily saved.
