AN elderly man has had a lucky escape after a huge tree branch crashed to the ground in a Hereford park.
Katherine Brace, 31, and fiancé Dan Berry, 32, said they were walking through Bishops Meadow in Hereford, near the river Wye, when they heard a "huge crash".
Miss Brace, of Portfields, said she rushed to the scene to check if anyone was hurt, and found a huge fallen tree bough near Victoria Bridge which was blocking the pathway.
She said: "No one was hurt, but we spoke to another elderly gentleman who had been walking near the area and had a lucky escape."
The branch fell at around 7.45pm on Tuesday, Miss Brace said, when stormy weather hit Hereford.
