POLICE have arrested two people in their 20s after a knife attack in a Herefordshire town.

West Mercia Police said a man, 26, and woman, 23, have been arrested after the assault in Kington's High Street around 11.15pm on Friday (July 16).

A police spokesperson said they were arrested on suspicion of assault and were in custody.

The victim, a 29-year-old man, was taken to hospital with injuries caused by the knife.

Officers investigating the attack appealed for witnesses, in particular two people seen on CCTV in the area at the time.

Detective Sergeant Jim Moore, from Hereford Criminal Investigation Department, said: “We believe we have identified two people we have on CCTV who may have witnessed the assault and would ask they get in contact with us.”
