PARKING is set to be banned for up to a month on some roads in Hereford as work continues to install fibre internet cables.

Herefordshire Council said parking on the roads would be stopped as part of Zzoomm’s fibre ducting works in the city.

From August 9, no parking will be allowed in Old Mills Close for six days and Chandos Street for 19 days.

From August 31, there will be no parking in Stanhope Street for 29 days and Baynham Street for 21 days from September 29.

Parking will also be banned in White Horse Street for 23 days from November 1.

“The said restrictions are required due to fibre ducting works and the likelihood of danger to the public while the works are taking place,” the council said.

“The said order will come into force on August 9 and may remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months, unless extended with the consent of the Secretary of State, but the works are expected to be completed with the duration of each location shown.”
