A THIEF has been jailed after repeatedly targeting shops in a Herefordshire market town.

Luke Fenn pleaded guilty when he appeared before magistrates in Kidderminster.

The court heard the 31-year-old had stolen £130 worth of gardening equipment from Morrisons in Leominster on April 25

He also repeatedly stole from Leominster's Co Op supermarket, taking groceries worth £86 on April 14, groceries worth £100 on April 17, groceries worth £86 on April 18, groceries worth £50 on May 4, and groceries worth £60 on June 23.

Fenn had also stolen groceries worth £81.83 from Leominster's Aldi supermarket on April 15 and meat worth £80 on June 23.

Magistrates heard Fenn had failed to surrender to custody at Hereford Magistrates Court on June 2 and had failed to attend an appointment required by an existing suspended sentence order on May 27.

Fenn, of Ridgemoor Road, Leominster, was jailed for 20 weeks and must pay compensation of £382.
