A BRIDGE had to be taken apart when a horse got stuck underneath it after falling into water.
Fire fighters were called to a farm in Credenhill at around 2pm yesterday and found an elderly horse lying on its side under a bridge.
In order to free it they removed wooden beams from the bridge and helped the horse up to stand up in the gap they had created.
The Hereford crew then used straw bales as makeshift steps and within an hour the horse was out of the water.
The bridge has been left for the farmer to make modifications to prevent any more animals getting stuck.
