It was deeply sad to hear of the death of Clive Richards CBE. Clive was president of Herefordshire Sport and an active and generous supporter of the many sports development projects promoted by Herefordshire Sport in partnership with other sports organisations in the county.
Having been an active sportsman himself he wanted others to enjoy the pleasures he had experienced.
His interest in sport ranged widely, and in particular he sought to encourage sport for young people.

Clive was an enthusiastic presence at the Herefordshire Annual Sports Personality of the Year Awards and on many occasions presented the awards personally, and appreciated the efforts of Herefordshire Sport to bring representatives of sport from across the county together.
Herefordshire owes Clive and Sylvia so much for their invaluable contribution in support of many aspects of community life. Besides sport, culture in its many forms, education, business and agriculture to mention but a few were beneficiaries of their generosity.
I am sure Clive’s impact on Herefordshire life will be long remembered.
