HEREFORD police have sent out a warning after a receiving 'numerous calls' from somebody pretending to be from the police.
The scammer asks the victim to confirm their address and states that they are going to fit an alarm on their property or provide personal attack alarms.
Hereford police sent out a tweet which said: "Hereford Safer Neighbourhood teams have had numerous reports today from members of the public, receiving phone calls from unknown persons claiming to be the police or connected to the police.
"Members of the public are being asked to confirm their address and told that someone from the crime prevention team is going to fit alarm systems and provide personal attack alarms.
"This is not connected to the police.
"We would like to warn people not to five out any personal information over the phone and report any potential scam phone calls to Action Fraud.
"Please stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to 101 or use our online reporting system."
