NEW figures have revealed how many people have been given their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine in each part of Herefordshire.

The NHS England data shows how many people have had at least one Covid-19 vaccine dose in each of Herefordshire's 23 middle super output areas.

In one area of Herefordshire, almost half of the population has been vaccinated with at least one dose as of February 21.

For the best level of immunity, two doses are needed. The second is given around 12 weeks after the first.

Analysis of the figures show 44 per cent of people in Colwall, Cradley and Wellington Heath have been vaccinated, which is the highest percentage in the county.

Some 2,541 of the 5,828 people living in the area in the east of the county have had their first dose.

In second is Shobdon, Luston and Bodenham, where 3,605 people out of an estimated population of 8,929 have been jabbed (40 per cent).

At the bottom is Hereford South West where 1,767 out of 8,270 people have been vaccinated.

When interpreting the figures it is important to remember the different demographics.

For example, in Hereford South West, more of the population are under-70 when compared to Colwall, Cradley and Wellington Heath.

In Hereford South West, 92 per cent of people are under-70, compared to 76 per cent in Colwall, Cradley and Wellington Heath.

Using the table you can see which how many people have been vaccinated in each area of the county.

By clicking on the column headers, you can also sort by population size and the number of people vaccinated.

Middle super output areas, which each have a population of around 8,000 people, according to the Office for National Statistics.

These areas are used in the reporting of small area statistics.

The ONS provides population estimates for these areas as of mid-2019. It means that when put with the NHS vaccination data, the percentage of population in those areas to have the jab can be worked out.

As only population estimates are used, some areas show more than 100 per cent of people have been vaccinated.

Vaccines in Herefordshire are given in the order of the Government's priority list, with most at five centres run by GP surgeries. There is also a mass site at Elgar House in Holmer Road, Hereford.
