A WOMAN has been taken to hospital after an ambulance came across a second crash on the A49 in Herefordshire.

In a separate incident to the one at Wooferton in north Herefordshire, West Midlands Ambulance Service found the two-car crash near Much Birch, between Hereford and Ross-on-Wye.

A spokesperson for the service said the paramedics came across the crash at 8.47am on Wednesday morning.

No other ambulances were sent to the scene.

"One patient, a woman, has been treated for injuries not believed to be serious and taken to Hereford County Hospital," the spokesperson added.
