A DRIVER has been fined almost £1,000 after he was caught behind the wheel while over the drug limit.
Gary Alexander Swift appeared before magistrates in Hereford for sentencing on February 1 after he was found guilty of drug-driving on September 1.
The court heard Swift had been driving an Audi A3 on the A49 at Callow in Herefordshire when he was stopped on January 1 last year.
An evidential blood test revealed the 31-year-old had 2.1 microgrammes of cannabis metabolite delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol per litre of blood. The legal limit is two.
Swift, of Hillersland, Coleford, was disqualified from driving for 12 months and fined £990. He must also pay costs of £775 and a £99 victim surcharge.
