SO far, so very good.

The 2007 Hereford Times Christmas Appeal continues to win over hearts, and imaginations.

Over the last two days countless well-wishers have provided items for the Children of Peace emergency appeal.

The charity, looking to ease a potential humanitarian crisis on the Gaza Strip, looks set to deliver a lorry-load of goods to needy children in the region.

And on Wednesday morning (Dec 12) we saw for ourselves what a great reaction, you, our readers, have provided.

"The response has been tremendous," said charity founder and chairman, Richard Martin.

"There was one woman who knitted scarves and other items and handed them to us. It's just wonderful."

Children's clothing, bedding, tinned foods, stationery - it all keeps coming.

The three-tonne lorry, provided by Chadds of Hereford, is getting fuller by the minute.

So let's make sure it's packed to the brim by Saturday afternoon.

The lorry remains parked outside the West Door of Hereford Cathedral between 10am and 4pm until Saturday afternoon.
