ANOTHER 67 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Herefordshire, the latest official figures show.

Public Health England figures show that 5,236 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 by 9am on Monday (January 18) in Herefordshire, up from 5,169 the same time on Sunday.

 

Over the last seven days, 636 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed in Herefordshire, 85 fewer than the previous week.

Across the UK, the number of recorded cases increased by 37,535 over the period, to 3,395,959.

Cumulative case counts include patients who are currently unwell, have recovered and those that have died.

A total of 130 patients have died at the Wye Valley NHS Trust after testing positive for coronavirus, NHS England figures showed as of 4pm on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Public Health England (PHE) said a further 599 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Monday, bringing the UK total to 89,860.

Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies for deaths where Covid-19 has been mentioned on the death certificate, together with additional data on deaths that have occurred in recent days, show there have now been 105,000 deaths involving Covid-19 in the UK.

PHE also said a total of 4,062,501 people in the UK have received the first dose of a vaccine.
