A MAN has been jailed after spitting at his victim and carrying a large kitchen knife in a Herefordshire market town.
Daniel Paul Wood entered a guilty plea when he appeared before magistrates in Kidderminster on December 7.
The court heard Wood had used threatening and abusive words and behaviour, which included spitting, towards another person in Kington on December 4.
The 40-year-old had also been caught carrying a kitchen knife measuring over seven inches without good reason or lawful authority on the same date near his home in Greenfields, Kington.
Magistrates said the offences were serious as spitting is not acceptable, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, and because it was Wood's second knife offence.
Wood was jailed for a total of 24 weeks and must pay a £128 victim surcharge.
